My laptop has been adding hsd1.mo.comcast.net to my computer name in my network scans ever since the comcast installer was here 2 days ago
Actually, hsd1.mo.comcast.net doesn't show up in computer settings but does when my network scans. What is it and why did it not show up before the technician was here?

That is the rDNS (reverse DNS) domain name for your Comcast assigned public IP address. It's perfectly normal. It may just recently have been added by the domain name manager / engineering dept. at Comcast due to a change of your IP after the tech visited.
