My internet is only testing at around 80 to 100 mbps

I have the 600 mbps plan and when I test my speed it usually is in the 100 range. Sometimes it will reach 200. Never have I had it reach 600. When I run the test on the Xfinity app. It says I'm running at 700 mbps.

Could my Xfinity internet really be pushing those speeds and maybe it's the app I'm using to check my speeds or my phone?

Im just wondering because I'm going to be getting a Xbox soon and wanted my internet to be at its best. I have the black modem. Not sure what it's called. I was hoping to get the new white one.

Try it with Ethernet, not WiFi.  You'll need a 1Gbps Ethernet port on the device you are testing with, not 10/100.

WiFi is a wild card.  2.4G is slower, but better for distance and walls.  5G works, but is pretty easy to interfere with.  WiFi 6 is faster, but pretty pretty short on distance and terrible with construction materials.  WiFi is going to depend on a lot of stuff too, including the software stack on your device and if the WiFi hardware is really on a USB bus.
