Moving modem to a new location in the house.

We added on to our house and ran new cables.  When we moved into the addition, we moved the modem to a different location in the house.  It worked for about 8 hours, and now it stopped.  When we move it back, it works fine.  Why would it work temporarily and then stop?

Perhaps the incoming cable signal is marginal / inadequate in strength at that outlet ?

What do the modem's signal stats look like at the previous out and also at the new outlet ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers from both places so that they can be compared.

What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?
