Moving a gen2 Pod to a different location - Best approach?

I’m considering moving a currently installed gen2 Pod to a different location to see if it improves performance for an area of my home. Do I simply unplug it from the current AC outlet and then replug it into the new location’s outlet, or what would be the steps for a better, more recommended approach? (and why)

And once moved, how long does it take for the Pod to fully re-optimize to the mesh network? The gateway is a new, very recently installed XB8 and I have two gen2 Pods installed.

You can move that gen2 pod at anytime. Generally we advise the best placement is halfway between the gateway and any area that needs coverage. Once the pod is active it will connect automatically to the gateway. I can also email you some information and tips on those devices for you as well.

@XfinityJohnG Thanks for the info. My question, though, was about how best to move a gen2 Pod. I'm wondering if it matters whether to simply unplug it from one AC outlet and into another location's AC outlet; OR is there a preferred process such as disconnecting from being registered with the XB8, then moving the Pod to the new location, then re-installing the pod. And, yes, please do email me info/tips about the Pods.

Great question! For the Wi-Fi pods, you should be able to unplug them and move them to a new location and plug them back in, and they should reconnect. As for the 6Ghz Wi-Fi signal, I am doing research into the issue now. Is your iPhone capable of a 6ghz signal? -BrianA

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks. The original poster has not returned. 4-month-old dead thread is now being closed.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on an old thread can delay getting help.
