Motorola MB8611 Modem Upload Speeds

I have had this modem for several months and it is working well, running software version 8611-19.2.18.  Average download speed in the mid-900's and upload speed locked at 18 Mbps.  My internet plan has potential upload speeds of 200 Mbps.  Xfinity has put out a list of "next gen" modems that have the OFDM/OFDMA upload channels - (Recommended Devices for Our Internet Plans)  capable of getting the upload speeds I am paying for.  But, apparently, the Motorola MB8611 does not have that technology.  So, even though the advertising for the Motorola MB8611 claims upload speeds of up to 800 Mbps, I am only getting 18 Mbps.

My question is do you know when the Motorola MB8611 will get a firmware update that will make it compatible with the Xfinity technology so that I can get the upload speeds I am paying for without having to purchase another new modem?

Thanks!

@paddster7 Thanks so much for reaching out to us here today with your equipment questions. Unfortunately I am not aware of any timeline for new devices to be added to our list of compatible equipment, but when a new device is found to be compatible with the enhanced speeds it should be added to the list found here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/upgraded-areas-leased-equipment-required-for-upload-speeds.

@XfinityBrianH the link you posted has outdated information.  It still says that customer modems aren't supported.

Unfortuneately that link does not tell us which devices are approved for the higher upload speeds. It really should, but it doesn't. Customers have to scroll down to the "All Compatible Devices" link near the bottom of the page (at the moment it points to https://assets.xfinity.com/assets/dotcom/projects/cix-4997_compatible-devices/2023.11.22%20Full%20List%20of%20Compatible%20Devices.pdf). They also have to ensure they meet the other requirements listed on https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/wiki/knowledgebase/next-generation-internet/.
