I am wondering if there is a problem brewing on my network from something outside. Nothing has changed in the house, I have a Netgear CM2000 modem. Speeds are fine, and no known outages, but in the last week I have gone from literally 1-2 CM-STATUS messages a WEEK to about 20 a day - half are 16, half are 24; which I believe indicates FEC errors were over limit on one of the assigned downstream OFDM profiles of a channel. They are all on OFDM Downstream channel 193 (VCMTS). This is the status page on it at the end of the post, and it's only been 4 days since the cable modem was rebooted and the counters cleared.
I also used to NEVER get uncorrectable codeword errors, and almost never correctable ones; but now I get a few hundred on 5-6 downstream channels, and one gets over 30,000 (channel 32/QAM256).
Should I pursue this with Comcast, or does a Comcast employee or someone else here have a knowledgeable opinion to share? Thank you!
