modem update scam

I just got a the same call.  Someon claiming to be Xfinity saying they were having trouble updating my modem.  Coincidentally, I changed the admin password on the modem yesterday.  As soon as I questioned if they were really Xfinity they hung up on me.  If you haven't changed your modem password I suggest you secure your network by changing the admin password.  It seems like my network has been wide open to hackers for some time.   Its very scarry that this isn't part of the instructions we receive when we get our modems.

Since you mentioned you are renting one of our modems, I recommend enabling the Advanced Security that is included at no cost.
