Modem Set Up

I currently just moved to a new house and had my account address swapped. I’m attempting to set up the modem and getting an indefinite blinking orange. I’ve tried new cables, coax ports in the house and power cycling the router. Any help of what else to do would be greatly appreciated!

On new service installations or new move-ins, what happens sometimes is that when a previous tenant moves out, Comcast sends a tech out for a service disconnect of the other end of the coax cable line from the live feed from the street / tap on the pole or pedestal. You'll likely need to book a tech visit to come out and reconnect the premises to the feed. If that is the case, it is on their end, and there shouldn't be a charge. You'll also need to get the device activated for service once there is a connection to their system. Good luck !

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your service up and running after your move. I appreciate you taking the time to try multiple coax outlets, replace cables, and power cycle the modem.

A continuously blinking orange light typically indicates the gateway is having difficulty establishing a connection to the Xfinity network. Since you've recently transferred service to a new address, it's possible the modem may need to be activated for the new location, or there could be an issue with the signal reaching the home. I would be more than happy to take a deeper dive into the issue for you.
