Modem Reboot Triggered by TLV-11 Configuration — Firmware Inquiry

I’m reaching out regarding a recurring issue with my ARRIS SBG10 modem. Recently, I noticed that the modem rebooted unexpectedly, and upon reviewing the event log, I found the following entry:

TLV-11 - unrecognized OID;CM-MAC=[Edited: "Personal Information"];CMTS-MAC=[Edited: "Personal Information"];CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

This event appears to coincide with the reboot, suggesting a possible configuration mismatch. My modem is currently running firmware version 9.1.103AA85.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Whether this firmware version is the latest approved for my service.
  2. If the provisioning file sent to my modem includes unsupported or incompatible OIDs.
  3. Whether there are known issues with TLV-11 triggering reboots on this firmware.

I’d appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue or next steps to ensure stable connectivity.

Hello @user_xe5y7x! Thank you for reaching out and providing such detailed information regarding the recurring issue with your ARRIS SBG10 modem.

Xfinity manages and automatically pushes all firmware updates to compatible customer-owned modems to ensure optimal performance and security on our network. I can't confirm if it is the latest approved version without accessing your specific account details.

The reboots you are experiencing are more likely tied to an underlying signal or power level issue.

To properly troubleshoot the unexpected reboots and ensure stable connectivity, I need to check your specific account details and modem's real-time signal diagnostics.

To get started, send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account.

To send a Direct Message:

Ensure you are logged in

  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it.

FWIW, TLV-11 unrecognized OID errors are basically passive messages and benign;
