Modem loud
My modem was loud about a month ago and I almost swapped it. Before I got around to doing that I unplugged it, my tv box, and my printer and then plugged back in. The noise stopped, but I just recently discovered that I no longer could print wirelessly from my phone. I went through my hip smart app to get the printer back online; now the printer works, but the humming noise is back again now. I’ve called Comcast; most of the time you get a low level person who just will tell you to swap it. Once I did get a person who seemed to know a little more and he said that it happens if there is a slower operating device on the network. This may be the case with my printer, I’m not sure. I don’t know if there is s fix other than taking that device off the network. I guess I’ll just live with the noise. Good thing about being old, it doesn’t bother me that much.

This is a known issue and you will not be able to fix it yourself. You should swap it out as soon as you can. It is not good to just 'live with the noise', the fan bearing is failing, and causing your unit to get very hot, which will ultimately cause it to fail completely. Suggest you swap it as soon as you can.
