Modem and router FAILURE
I do not use the Xfinity modem or gateway. We have always purchased our own equipment. About 6 months ago, I upgraded our equipment to a Motorola MB8611 modem and and a TP Link AX6600 router. Xfinity has been "upgrading" in our area which included NUMEROUS outages. No big deal as the system needs these upgrades.
However, we awake this morning to find we have NO internet. Good luck getting someone on the phone to help. After a couple of hours of troubleshooting, I first replaced the modem with our OLD modem. Once activated, it connected and worked fine but still no wifi.
At this point, I replaced our router with the previous router. WOW,everything now works!!!
Can I prove that Xfinity damaged my modem and router? No, but I find it very suspicious that BOTH crashed during a time they were working on our network.
