MoCA turns on automatically?

I have Xfinity X1 TV, Phone Service, and Internet with Xfinity. I am using a Xfinity XB7 Gateway and MoCA keep turning on. If I shut it off it eventually reactivates and my two cable boxes connect to it.

I am assuming Xfinity wants MoCA enabled for some reason?

Could somebody please confirm. Thank you.

Yep. We've seen many posts here that the MoCA feature gets turned back on with their overnight reboots / updates for the device. You should install a MoCA P.O.E. (Pont Of Entry) filter on the input port of the first splitter off of the street drop  like this one:

You can get one for free at your local Comcast / Xfinity store.

If you install one, it won't matter if it gets re-enabled anyway as it will be blocked from affecting you.

I do have one installed. However, why does it keep turning on? Is there a technical reason?

I'd have to say that they deliberately have the firmware coded to behave that way.. It's allegedly, more "user-friendly"..... 🙄 Just like everything else that has been dumbed down.....
