Misinformed/accommodation

So I was scheduled for suspension of wifi service today Sept. 1st. I spoke with an chat agent about the arrangements. He informed me that there wasnt really any room for me to make anymore arrangements, which is understandable. I had pretty much sucked it up and accepted that my service was going to be suspended and that i wouldnt be able to make a payment until the 4th. Well I expressed that in the chat. After I said that in the chat the agent then informed me that I was enrolled in the installment plan and with that being so, I could have until the 4th to pay it. Mind you, I've already made up in my mind I was just going to have to figure something out until the 4th because my daughter homeschools and she have to have wifi. So I asked again pretty much if he was sure. He reassured me that my services would not be interrupted due to me being enrolled in the installment plan and to make sure I made the payment on the 4th. Well this morning while my daughter was in class she all of a sudden lost signal. I clicked on the wifi icon on my phone and tried to sign in and that's when I found out my services had been suspended anyway. I then contacted customer service. I was informed that the ticket that was submitted was rejected. The phone agent then apologized and told me there was nothing they could do. She then informed that it was rejected due to having a poor payment history and that my last payment was in April. She then proceeded to ask me why was that so. Me thinking it would help then told her something personal happened to my daughter and I ended up having to take over $1000.00 pay cut in the result of that and that im behind in everything. Well of course I felt stupid cause then I realized she was just being nosey. And that now im recorded telling the QA department all of our business.  She then moved forward in telling me that she sorry the chat agent said that but it wasnt anything she could do. I begin to ask why would the agent not confirm that first. On top of that he could see my account as well. Mind you again, he had already said that there wasnt any room for any arrangements. So that means he could see the same thing the phone agent seen. Why are they trained to just tell you anything? I screen shot the conversation because this has happened before  and thats what made me start screenshotting. We were told that we had until the 4th.  My daughter was in class online. I was fine with just sucking it up and doing without for a couple days. I then expressed that I want to start a petition and  I feel xfinity cant keep getting away with this and that someones going to have to step up and take legal action to see what's going on behind the scenes. Why is there such a big discrepancy between the chat agents and the phone agents? And why can they just lie to you and with proof and doesn't matter? Really a whole plethora of things I found out and observed. Me and the first agent disconnected. I called again and now im talking to the second agent. You know how you can tell someone s smiling over the phone? As I was speaking to the second agent, once I got to the legal part asking for info, she called me by my first name and told me she doubt anything would happen. She pretty much felt I was being petty, but not all. You never know anyone's situation. Its not that its xfinitys problem. However, to be able to play with someone's lively hood and misinforming customers is diabloical. Its not petty or small. My child is in homeschool. I take account for the past due amount. However , it's when the chat agent came back and told me I had more time.  Xfinity has been doing this for years.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Is it not public? If not, how do I move it?

@user_ezq6o1 Our forum expert was moving your original post to the appropriate board. We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your recent experience. All of our payment options are handled through the Xfinity Assistant as it has the option to set up an installment plan or a payment arrangement, like you are familiar with, assuming your account is eligible. If it is not, you would need to pay the past due balance in full before service would be restored. Keep in mind that if there is a balance carried over past the bill print date at the top of your statement, the total amount carried over would be the new amount required to pay in order to restore service as you will have moved to a new month.

I understood that. That was established. I was taking accountability for MY bill. And accepted I was just going to have to wait and pay it when I can on the 4th, in which  I expressed that to the agent. I wasnt asking if I could pay it on the 4th. It was when the chat agent came BACK and told me I could get more time being I was enrolled in the installment plan. And reassured me that my services wouldnt be suspended. But then cut off while my daughter was in class.

Our team can definitely understand how stressful and irritating it is to have issues with your internet connection. We all work from home on this end of the screen so we can completely relate to how it causes you to make arrangements that you didn't expect. The agent should not have set the precedent you had more time if they did not have the authority to update the payment arrangement from our end. They have limited that ability for most front line representatives and pushed that service feature to the Xfinity Assistant.

Rules or rules and policy is policy. They are all set in place for a reason. So that wasnt the argument. As I stated before, it wasnt that I didnt want to pay my bill or looking for a discount. I just felt that what he said AFTER I said "ok I won't be able to pay until the 4th. Ill just have to wait" should have been honored. I just wanted to know how was that on me if the ticket was rejected AFTER I was reassured a couple of times and AFTER we disconnected. And with screenshots of the chat. I just felt that could've been honored and he just gets coaching and more training for misinformation. Not fired or anything. I also felt disrespected when the representative told me she doubt anything would be done if legal actions take place. With confidence. The chuckle and mockery

We can look into both interactions looked into. Our team does not have the ability to set payment arrangements or modify them and want to set the proper expectations that the service won't be able to be restored until the past due amount is paid in full. If you could please send me a DM with your first and last name along with your full-service address, we can get started.
