MB8611 with my own wireless router

I had a 1Gbit/s plan; recently, I bought my cable modem, MB8611, which can support 2.5 Gbit/s. After successful connections and returning the XFi unit, I realized the max speed I can achieve is around  0.25 Gbit/s (measured between MB8611 and my wireless router through CAT6A ethernet cable) in any circumstance. Does anyone help troubleshoot this issue seriously without calling the Xfinity service center?
