Managing Xfi gateway - without the Android App - full admin rights.

I know it can be done. From a non-Andriod device, I can access the Xfi gateway control panel. Just type the gateway address into any web browser.

***  Before anyone says "check cable connections, etc"  Xfinity techs (basic & advanced?) reinstalled all connectors, eliminated all splitters, conformed all connections from the street to the modem side of the gateway are up to expectations.  Call tech support?  Already spent 8 hours on the phone with them.  Level 1 support works off a generic knwledgebase.  ***

PROBLEM is that accessing & managing the Xfi gateway via anything but the app provides limited rights & permissions. It CAN be done, how do I access the control panel from a web browser (not Android) with full administrative right? Commandline? Telnet? Https?  Why?  The router side of the gateway continually drops all 3 wireless networks.  I can watch the SSIDs drop from lists of available networks just to become available again.  Problem is, most devices need to "log in to" the network again...  EVEN if set to "connect automatically."  How pervasive is the problem?  Even the Xfinity Flex streaming box drops.

Can I telnet into it? I need access to manage the actual router...  Not "network password," etc. All of the stuff anyone who knows routers WANTS to do.  Channels, WPA settings...

View the logs, at greater detail.   Lof into the modem and look at the config & logs.

This Xfi gateway and the app bring managing the gateway up to the grandmother level. No tech skills needed. Handicapping management is useless as simplicity, while good for the general public, brings with it problems that need a deeper level of knowledge & ability. It's a technical device that needs to be managed at a much deeper level...

I have permissions to get into my ASUS router & Arris modem.  XFinity "tech support" can read from their knowledgebase and log in from their end and have full admin rights.  So the "permissions" exist.

Hey, Xfinity, how about letting us troubleshoot your gateway connectivity when your Level 1 & Level 2 tech support are still reading from knowledgebase???

@BGlines Here's how to send that direct message;

Click "Sign In" if necessary.

Click the "Direct Message" icon  in the upper right corner or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon.

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.

Press Enter to send it.
