MAC Address Blocked

I have a smart TV from Samsung.  Every time the TV tries to connect to the Internet, the whole system shuts down and all of my devices are knocked off the network.  Once I turn off the TV and reset the router/modem, then the home network functions normally.  I have tried to contact Xfinity about the issue, but all I can get ahold of are automated bots and not a real person to talk to.  This is very frustrating.  If anyone can help, please let me know.

HI! I am sorry to hear that you are having issues getting your TV connected to the internet. Are currently using an Xfinity Wireless Gateway? If so, can you look through your Xfinity App to see if there are any blocked threats?

@ComcastTonyO

I have a Netgear modem/router combo.  Does Xfinity automatically block certain MAC addresses?

Thanks,

Don

@user_ef9183 There shouldn't be anything blocked by default, but I can take a closer look into this and run through some troubleshooting on my end with you. Please send us a Live Chat with your first and last name as well as your service address so we can assist.

How does your TC connect...wireless or by an ethernet cable?  If your TV connects wirelessly, you might try to see if it will connect via ethernet.  Perhaps there is an issue with the wireless adapter in the TV, although I don't know how that can cause the router to lose all the other connections.
