low upload speed

I have the 2 gig plan and my upload speeds are not whats advertised. I am only getting 35 mbps. My moden is netgear cm3000 which is on the approved list and capable of handling the speeds. By looking through this forum it seems like no one is getting the advertised upload speed. Is this why xfinity speedtest only gives you download speed and doesnt test upload speed so your customers doesnt see they are not getting what they pay for?

@user_rxkqv8 That modem is eligible for the enhanced speeds. So there are a few things we will need to check. We need to make sure the address is showing that those speeds are available at that location. Assuming they are then we have some troubleshooting and provisioning for the modem that we can do to make sure the proper bootfile is being sent to the modem. Please send us a direct message with your full name and the service address to get started on that.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

FWIW, their speedtest does indeed show the upload speed result. You have to click on "Show More" to see it;

You can check the signal stats on your modem to see if your segment has "next gen" upload speeds enabled.  You need a locked upstream OFDMA channel to get more than ~40Mbps upload.  CM3000 should be fine, so if you don't have any OFDMA channels it's likely your segment hasn't been upgraded yet.  I have a NetGear CM2050V so it might look a little different, but it should look something like this:

Upstream OFDMA Channels
Channel Lock Status Modulation / Profile ID Channel ID Frequency Power
1 Locked 12 ,13 41 36200000 Hz 33.5 dBmV
2 Not Locked 0 0 0 Hz 0 dBmV

You have to click "Show more" after the download test to get upload speed or ping from the Xfinity speed test.  Try 3rd party speed tests if you don't get full speed from XFinity.  It used to work for me, or at least it would report 1400/40 when I had 1200/40 service before they bumped me up to 2100/300.  Lately I haven't been able to get over 1Gbps down & 100 up with the Xfinity test but get 2Gbps+ down and 350 up with some 3rd party speed tests.  A few times I've gotten 2Gbps on a large download, mostly installing video games from Steam.  The Xfinity test having issues might be location dependent.  I've only ever tried it in Chicago.
