Low download internet speed

On my tariff plan ( Download speed: up to 300 Mbps, Upload speed: up to 20 Mbps) but download speed always less then 95 Mbps.

I did a speed test on different sites and the result is the same download speed less than 95 Mbps. I attached a screenshot with the test results.Please help me with this issue.

Details about my equipment.

1) Cable Modem ARRIS SB6183 (up to 686Mbps)

2) Wi-Fi Router TP-link Archer C54

@user_evs162 Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I can definitely understand how frustrating it is to not get the speeds you are subscribed to and our team can help. Can you share with me what troubleshooting steps you have already taken? Also, is this an Xfinity gateway or your own modem and is there a stand-alone router in use as well?

user_evs162 if you bypass your router and test your speed directly to the Arris modem do you see a different speed? Sometimes you need to reset your modem and PC after trying this, but that's the best thing you can do to troubleshoot further.

FWIW. A straight cable modem has to be power-cycled / re-booted each and every time that one changes the device that is being connected to it in order for that device to be able to get an internet connection.

Is that with a hardwired ethernet connection to the TP Link ? That router has only 10/100 ethernet ports so you'd get only 90 to 95 Mbps due to ethernet overhead.

@user_evs162 Thank you for confirming that you are getting 95 Mbps on the Wi-Fi connection to your notebook. Do you have the ability to disconnect the router from your modem, hook the notebook up directly to the modem itself and then run a speed test? I'd like to try and rule out any issues with the router itself.

I have connected directly to cable modem and speed was more than 360 Mbps.

So the reason of my low speed is wi -fi router.

Thank you.

@user_evs162  You are so very welcome, I'm sure it isn't the fix you were hoping for since routers cost money, but I'm glad we were able to sort it out for you. I'd like to follow up after you replace the router to make sure that you are receiving the right speeds. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi speeds will be slightly less than the hard-wired speeds, and can also depend on how many devices are using the service, etc. Do you know when you'll be replacing the router?

@user_evs162

Are there any QoS feature settings enabled ? If so, disable them and see.
