Lists my WiFi equipment as Thomson DHG546 when I have a Arris G54

I have this exact issue.  I have been trying for a complete month to resolve this with Xfinity but I can't get passed step 1 because they tell me it is my equipment, I don't know what I am talking about, etc.  I have had to research many places.  I have never had a Thomson DHG546 EMTA Modem.  It is a legacy modem. 

My Arris Surfboard G54 is being incorrectly misidentified by the Xfinity ISP system as the Thomson. The Thomson in it's day had a 1.0 or 2.0 DOCSIS Bootfile.  Again, I have never had a Thomson.  The modem that I replaced was a Arris SBG8300.  I replaced at the urging of the check now for equipment and it suggested that my internet would work better if I replaced it.  Now, when I use the check now to see my equipment it shows that I have a Thomson along with the orange warning flags that it is old and incompatible.  Every time, I talk to someone in tech support they tell me not to worry about it because on their end it shows the Arris G54.  As have tried to patiently explain many times, I can't manipulate the information the xfinity system comes back with when I use the Check Now feature.  We have tried several times to remove the equipment and reinstall.  Every time the equipment lists as Thomson DHG546.  I have done all the power cycle, resetting the modem so that it has to get the bootfile again and it has not changed.  The internet is slower now than when I had the Arris SBG8300.  HFC MAC F820D240C81D.  Please help...I can't do this anymore.  I have been a 23 year customer and now I am ready to abandon the ship.
