LingoPie won’t play videos while signed into XFINITY WiFi Network

Hello everyone!

      So I’m trying to watch videos using LingoPie (a steaming service app like Netflix but for language learners) and I keep getting an error message saying “Error something went wrong!”. Whenever I use my mobile data it works perfectly fine.

I have been working with the LingoPie support team and they’re saying it’s an issue with my DNS or firewall setting. My firewall settings are set to low but the issue remains. Doesn’t matter if it’s my computer, iPad or iPhone the issue remains. Anyone have any idea how to stop this from happening? Maybe a setting I need to turn off somewhere in my WiFi network?

Hey there, AmaniSoulaan! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us. Learning a new language is always a valuable skill to gain. I am sorry to hear you are encountering an error when attempting to stream this app. Are you usually connected to a VPN network when you experience this error?

Thanks for the reply. When I use my VPN or my mobile data it actually works perfect. It’s only when I’m using my in home WiFi do I have issues playing videos.

Thanks for letting us know it is working on the VPN and over mobile data @AmaniSoulaan. We can look into this further, are you accessing LingoPie on an app or on a website. A couple of things I'd recommend is making sure you are on the most up-to-date app version and clearing cache and cookies on your web browser.

AmaniSoulaan Thank you for helping us with the troubleshooting process. Did the app work on your home network in the past? Have you tried forgetting the network and reconnecting? Do you have iCloud Private Relay enabled?

@AmaniSoulaan

For a test and as a possible workaround, you could try disabling their Advanced Security feature and see;
