less than 500mbps speed on ethernet

was wondering if there could be an issue with the XFi modem to why i am only getting less than 500mbps to my tp link VPN router/gateway via ethernet. i am connected to port one on the router using Cat 6 cable. plan speed is 1.2gbps. i know that the ethernet ports are only rated at 940mbps but i should be closer to that?

What do you get with a computer connected directly to the Xfi gateway device (no TP-link router in the mix) ? Is it in bridge mode ? What is the exact make and model number of it ?

@user_5f50a4 thank you for reaching out here on our Xfinity Forums. It looks like @EG beat me to the questions I needed to ask to get started with troubleshooting! Can you please confirm what the speeds are when connecting directly to the Xfinity modem, if the modem is in bridge mode and the make and model?

@user_5f50a4 Thanks for those details, are you still experiencing speed issues? Is there a splitter involved in the connection to the coaxial cable outlet at all?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Are you able to connect a device directly to the modem with an ethernet cable to run a speed test that way?
