Latency in rocket league(a video game I play on PC over wifi)

I would like help interpreting results from pingplotter. I used it to ping what I believe to be a rocket league server that I found in a log file from Rocket League. Below are the results.

I've been experiencing random lag spikes for like a month, but this is the first time I run pingplotter. Looks like 75% packetloss at something called Level3.

However, I just tried the game on xbox(same house but wired connection) and I didn't notice any lag.

Packet loss at points along a route are typically only significant if they carry through to the destination. The trace posted shows packets continuing past the timeouts at the intermediate hops and reaching the destination, so the timeouts are probably not significant. Please see https://www.dslreports.com/faq/14068.

"Level 3" no longer exists as a major Internet communication provider under that name but many of the devices that they put in place are still configured with that name. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Level_3_Communications.

@user_76132b thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Community Forums for answers regarding the latency you are experiencing while playing Rocket League. @BruceW brings up some great points about the results of your signals.

It's also worth pointing out that when latency happens while playing one game and not with another, or on any other devices, the issue usually lies with communication from the game server. At times of heavy congestion on that server, there will undoubtedly be latency.

Some ways to reduce latency on your end are to:

-move as close to the router as possible to the router and ensure you are using a wired connection (extra-long ethernet cables may reduce speeds)

-if you are playing on a PC, make sure background programs are closed

-try to play on a local server

Are you playing Rocket League on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox?

Always read the Subject line, which in this case says:

Sorry folks, must not have been signed in when I sent the following reply.
Thanks Bruce. I moved the pc temporarily out to the family room to test it when connected directly by Ethernet and there were no more lag spikes. I guess the problem lies somewhere between the router and how my computer is receiving the signal.
