Large packet loss and network instability following Xfinity maintinence, recurring issue.
Hello,
I have lived at my location for about 3 years now, and I have had a strange recurring issue with my Xfinity internet. Every so often, about 4-6 months apart, internet will be down in my area, the app showing "routine Xfinity maintenance". After this maintenance, my network will experience large intermittent packet loss, slow speeds, and even cutting out altogether sometimes. This will last about 1.5-2.5 weeks, until the internet will go down again for "routine Xfinity maintenance" and afterward, my internet will be back to normal, with no issues. This problem will then occur again in some months.
I'm making this post because I am trying to understand what is happening on Xfinity's side. I was thinking that part of the maintenance switches out their good equipment with a worse, temporary one and the maintenance actually lasts the couple weeks instead of the couple hours that the internet is down. This packet loss and instability can be very frustrating because I work from home, and I'm not sure if I can actually do anything about it until it fixes itself in the coming weeks. I'm looking for more information on what is actually happening and if there really is a way to fix this recurring issue, as the internet is nearly unusable.
