Large Corrected/Uncorrected MB8611

Can anyone tell me what's going on with this high corrected/uncorrected count?  I've had techs out and one said it's the line from the house to the box and another just said, "replace the modem".

Howdy user_hf12jc

Is the routing system external from the modem or self-contained with all in one unit style like a gateway? I was also curious if there were any network extenders in the home. Appreciate you getting us in the loop to help.

The wifi is separate. It's a Asus brand. No extenders either.

One tech Said there was some weird readings to the box from the house suggesting a problem with the line underground. Said he scheduled a lineman technician. Never showed up. When I inquired the guy on chat ignored what I said and sent out another tech that completely disregarded anything the previous tech reported.

Gotcha! user_hf12jc

One of the big things with using your own equipment is that our techs are typically not going to be able to provide much support onsite for hardware config issues or anything like that, all they can do in that situation is make sure the signal levels that reach the device are in specification and the modem accepts the provision signal to activate the device. Have you reached out to the device manufacturer for support on this? The external line is something we can easily address as well. If you don't mind, I would like for us to do some digging here from our end.

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

@user_hf12jc

Routing and WiFi extenders have nothing to do with bit errors... They indicate an RF signal impairment between the cable modem and the Comcast system. Typically they're are caused by spurious noise leaking into the line(s) somewhere. You may want to get their techs reinvolved with this until it gets fixed properly.

Bear in mind that if the premises facing techs can not find or fix a problem at your home, it is they who are responsible for escalating it up to their line / network / maintenance dept. techs. The problem may lie beyond your home in the local neighborhood infrastructure somewhere but it is their S.O.P. to start at the home. And if the problem is found to be on their side of the demarcation point, there will not be any charge.

Good luck !
