Just upgraded to xFi Compete package, thought upload speed was supposed to be better?

I've been on 1.2gbps for a couple years. I upgraded to the xFi Complete with the XB7 Gateway to get unlimited data and 200mbps upload. However, my upload speed only went up 5mbps to 40mbps. Why am I not getting the big upload speed upgrade from xFi complete?

Hello @GB916 thank you for reaching out through our forum.

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

See https://comca.st/3KQF8q9 for an example.

@XfinityStephanieT where to find the "Direct Messaging" icon? The example screenshot shows some icons which could not be found on the forum.xfinity.com page. I suffer the same problem, that gigabit x2 + xFi Complete has worse download than previous gigabit pro speed, and upload is also only at most 50Mbps.

@user_2fe28b never mind I found it. That icon did not appear, but after a few refreshes, it eventually showed up.

@user_32eb4b

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on an old thread can delay getting help.

@XfinityDanielC I also sent direct messages (I am not OP) to Xfiniti Support yesterday, but there has not been any response yet. I wonder if you could also kindly check the DMs from me? It's much appreciated.

I started a chat with xfinity. They said they have to test my area before increasing speed. The evaluation would be 10-15 days. I'll check back in a couple weeks.

@GB916 Thank you for reaching back out to us here at the Xfintiy Community Forums regarding the review of your upload speeds with xFi Complete. You mentioned that you had 'chatted' with Xfinity previously and were waiting for a response. I am not seeing a Direct Message here on the forums so was this done via a Live Chat?

We can certainly take a closer look at what steps the prior specialists you spoke with are waiting on.

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

@user_32eb4b Sacramento area, yes. In an older neighborhood.  I've never seen comcast/xfinity do anything around here, so I've lost hope of getting improved upload speed. I'm still sitting at 40mbps.

@GB916 - In the next step of our ongoing Next Generation Network upgrades, we're increasing Xfinity Internet upload speeds for our customers across the West Division. Eligible xFi Complete customers in certain areas will receive between 5 to 10 times their current upload speeds at no additional cost. Over the next several years, we're rolling out our Next Generation Network speeds across the West Division. Here are the latest eligible areas and their corresponding dates:

- Dec. 7, 2022: San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Monterey, and Salinas, California
- March 14, 2023: Santa Barbara, California
- April 4, 2023: Chico, California

Not every customer in these cities will be eligible, but can receive faster upload speeds only if they meet certain requirements, including having or adding xFi Complete, having an XB6, XB7, or XB8 gateway, maintaining a current Internet speed tier that we offer, residing in an area where our Next Generation Network construction is complete, and passing the network test.

If you feel like you should qualify at this time, we're more than happy to take a closer look! Please send our team a direct message to get started.

To send a direct message:

  • Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see a chat box icon at the top right of your page. Click that or follow this link here: https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type 'Xfinity Support'.
  • Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name and the service address alongside a detailed summary of your request/question. Thank you!
