Your best course of action is to call 1-800-XFINITY and ask for help connecting your gateway in a new location. You will be talking to an AI at first, but hang in there and it will eventually get you to an agent.

Is / are the light / lights on the modem lit steadily, or are they blinking (what color)?

If this is a new service installation / new move-in, the other end of the line has probably been disconnected from the Comcast feed. It's quite typical. You likely need a tech out to reconnect your premises to the active Comcast feed at the main splitter for the building / premises. If it's a multiple dwelling you can try to get the owner / manager / maintenance person to do it. You won't be able to activate the service with the app if your line is not connected to the system. Good luck ! And please post back here with how things turn out.

Good morning, user_i0vbf7! Thanks for joining and reaching out to our Xfinity forum. We appreciate you taking us with you to your new place. Please know that my team is always here to support you.

To confirm, were you able to get the service up and running, or are you still without service?

I had to get a new modem and it’s still not working. I have a technician coming out today to hopefully get it up and running

@user_i0vbf7 I'd like to follow up with you to confirm your services are working after the tech visit. What time is your appointment? Also, you may use our Xfinity hotspot signal while we get your services working.

To find your nearest hotspot, go to xfinity.com/wifi and enter your zip code. Once you are at the location, follow the instructions at xfinity.com/wifi to join the hotspot.
