Issues connecting to Comcast Xfi Pod after Windows 11 Update
I have a Dell Alienware M15 R4 that was running windows 10 up until two weeks ago when I was prompted to update to windows 11. I use comcast for my ISP and because of my router location, I use an Xfi pod extender (latest generation). Prior to the update, my PC would always use the Xfi pod to connect (as its far closer in proximity and has the stronger connection). I can verify that because in the Xfinity app, I can see which devices are connected to which wifi device (the gateway or the xfi pod).
Every since updating to windows 11, my PC just refuses to use the Xfi pod as the connection point resulting in a significant drop in wifi speed and performance (100 mbps vs the 450+ I was getting on the pod before). I have taken a number of trouble shooting steps on my own:
reinstalled network adapter drivers (directly from Dell)
Reset the network adapter
reset wifi modem and pod (a number of times)
made sure BIOS and all other drivers are up to date
checked that I have the latest windows update
I've played with only connecting to 2.4 vs 5 GHz bands which made no difference
- Have directly connected my PC to the Xfi Pod via Ethernet (that worked, confirming there is no issue with the pod itself)
- Spent about 2 hours with windows tech support tweaking various settings to see if anything changed (it did not)
Originally, I thought this had to be an issue with windows 11, as I had no issues on windows 10 prior to the update. However after significant testing, I have made another observation. This could be an issue with Dell specifically. I have two other laptops at home in the exact same location as the PC I reference above. One is a Surface Laptop, and the other is my work machine (another Dell). All of these laptops are also running windows 11. The Surface laptop has no issue connecting to the xfi pod an enjoys wifi speeds 4x what I am getting on the Dells. My Dell work computer will also refuse to connect to the Xfi Pod...
I am really at a loss here and any other ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I feel as though I have narrowed this issue down to Dell PCs running windows 11 (as 10 worked fine despite it being a Dell), but anything else anyone can think of that I can try would be great.
