Issues Connecting Android Devices
Hi - I installed my new XB8 Gateway the other day. I am having issues connecting my Android devices to the network. Internet browsing generally works (though slower than expected), but some applications do not work (MAX, Spotify, among others). This is the case on my TV and Phone. Some notes:
1. Checking my data usage shows 100s of GBs of usage going back months. I just opened this account.
2. Navigating to 10.0.0.1 takes me to Gateway settings of someone else's Wi-Fi (maybe my downstairs neighbors?). I am unable to change settings on my Gateway.
3. The devices not working are the only ones connecting over 6 GHz network. All others use 2.5 or 5 GHz.
Wondering if anyone has thoughts on how to fix this. Thanks!

Hello, @androidwoes, and thank you for choosing Xfinity! That is odd to show data usage in previous months if you had just opened your account. Did you happen to transfer your services to a new address? Also, did you follow these steps to install and activate your XB8 modem? Can you also please try clearing the cache and cookies on your device, and then navigate to your gateway settings to be sure you're logging into your XB8s' Gateway settings? Thank you!

I have a similar problem with my almost new Samsung Xcover6-Pro phone.
Ever since Comcast came out and "Upgraded" our Gateway to the XB8, most devices in our home quit working, including my phone. The only way I can access the internet at home now is to use Verizon, since the new XB8 won't talk to my phone. My phone says it is "Connected" but won't let me even run a Speed Test using Comcast's own speed test website. When I do a google search, I can get search results, but my phone is prevented from following any "Sponsored Links" and can't follow many other links either. It is sooo annoying.
We used to have just the Xfinity 5G setup with separate lower and upper Bands. Each Band had different names. We had put most lower bandwidth items like the printer, Coffee machine, clock radio, etc, on the lower band.
Evidently, ever since our friendly Comcast repair guy installed the new XB8 mesh system, that was all blown away with the XB8's "single" network name! Almost all of our various internet devices are no able to connect to the WiFi, including our almost new Printer, our Samsung TV, our Coffee maker, our Clock Radio, our Robot Vacuum cleaners, and my almost new Samsung XCover6-Pro Android Wifi-6 capable phone. Everything.
But hey, we still have "slow speed" too, because he couldn't fix the speed problem by installing the new XB8 with WiFi6. Then he left us holding this non-working bag of mess. I'm about ready to ditch the Xfinity XB8 and the Xfinity Pods that my wife was talked into buying. Has anyone else bought another system to replace the XB8 and Pods? Or found a way to separate the bands again with different names for each? I'm running out of patience. We haven't been able to print documents at home now for a couple weeks.
