Issue with XFINITY and xfinitywifi hotspots on iPhone and iPad
On both my iPhone XR and my iPad A9, I am able to connect to either the XFINITY (secure) or xfinitywifi (unsecure) hotspot SSIDs, but then I am not able to get internet access. Not through the browser and not through any apps including email. I have tried this both with and without the xfinity hotspots app and the secure profiles, but the same bd result. On top of this, my iPhone XR is on xfinity Mobile, so it connects to hotspots automatically and then I do not get emails or other data updates while connected with no internet connection. Both devices are on iOS 14.01, but this also happened with iOS 13.7. I was hoping iOS 14 would resolve the issue.
My wife's Galaxy phone and my computer connect to the same hotspots and have internet without issue.
Please help.
Thanks

For what it's worth I had a similar a while back, I temporarily fixed it by clicking on the blue circle with a I in it and when the menu came up, clicked on configure dns, clicked on manual, then add servers, I put 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 then saved it, then I was able to use the internet

Thanks, I had tried that as well with no luck. It almost feels like these two devices have some kind of block by xfinity. Hopefully, they can figure this out. There have been similar issues described, but I never saw a solution posted.

Did you try to forget those networks and reconnect? Just a thought

I am having similar issues. I just upgraded my modem with Xfinity but also updated my Apple devices to iOS 14, which appears to have some significant wifi connection issues.

I was having the same issue with my iPad 12.9 third gen. My XS Max would connect with service, but the iPad would connect but no service. I signed out and signed back in. At that point it asked me to update my profile, and now it works phenomenally. Go to settings in the hotspots app and under sign in different user, sign out; sign back in.

Thanks for the feedback. I had tried all that but nothing worked. For my iPad xfinity support was able to clear out some information on the xfinity backend network and it works now. My phone can't be fixed by the same group since it is on xfinity mobile. I have a case open for the phone with xfinity mobile, but no resolution yet.
