ISP DHCP not functioning. ASUS router message
I have an Asus RT-AX86U Pro with a Netgear CM1200 router. All firmware is updated. This combination has been working fine for many months. Recently (last week or so), it appears the router disconnects from the modem. I get a valid local IP, but the WAN ip drops, thus no connectivity. Note: everything is hard-wired.
This leads to endless reboots of the PC, Router, Modem until I can get a valid wan IP then I can try to "fix" the issue.
The associated issue(s) I sometimes get is that I cannot log into the router NOR the modem from the PC, even though I have a valid local IP. I have a laptop (hardwired into the same router) that can log into both without issues. I have tried swapping Ethernet cables, added a separate NIC card to the PC all without continued success.
Any thoughts? I did have xfinity tech come out last year when I had the same issues. Everything checked out, they noted at that time the modem I had at that time was end of life, thus the new CM100 modem but same issues are reappearing.

Hey there, @wagilbert1. Our team can definitely understand how stressful and irritating it is to have issues with your internet connection. We all work from home on this end of the screen so we can completely relate to how it causes you to make arrangements that you didn't expect. Have you had the chance to test the laptop or PC directly connected to the modem? This would isolate a connection issue between the modem and router or the signal entering and exiting the home.
