Is Xfinity forcing you to use their modem routers by not recognizing others?
Can anyone explain why an Xfinity Gateway modem/router works flawlessly to provide stable internet in my house (no events recorded in the event log either), but three different Comcast-certified modems (brand new) and two Comcast-certified routers (brand new) do not? Five tech visits to date and running, innumerable tech support calls. And feel like hundreds of hours wasted on their automated phone system. Plus my stress levels...but how is it legal if they advertise the ability to use Comcast-certified devices you own but won't provide internet services through those devices?

I have never had a issue using my own equipment, I use a mb8611 with superb performance and uptime, I have used the Xb8 with similar results, personally your own router probably has many more settings to change to get you into trouble, if the Xb8 is automatic managed, could be a reason…

But multiple modems and routers with five tech visits, multiple calls with Xfinity and each of the other modem and router brands? When they were working perfectly a few months ago? I’ve ruled out any fault with my own brand new certified devices.

Well it seems to me, if the xfinity gateway works flawlessly in your house according to you, I could rule out the line and signal to your house, I might try to duplicate the settings on the xfinity gateway since it works flawlessly..
