Is the Netgear CM500 base model router supported by Xfinity (April 2021)?

According to the Xfinity app, as of 2021-04-13, the Netgear CM500V and CM500-100NAS are supported devices, but the app does not list the plain CM500. I happened to mention to a friend that my old Arris SB6141 is no longer supported, and he sent me a CM500. I don’t want to open up the package and go through the process of attempting to connect it only to find out it is not going to be supported by Xfinity, because it will be much easier to return for credit to exchange for a supported device if I don’t open it. Please, official answers only.

I'm not an official employee, but it is supported for speeds of up to 372 Mbps according to their approved device site here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices#details

@EG This is why I asked for official answers only, and why I specifically noted in my post that the “CM500V” (includes Voice line) and “CM500-100NAS” (presumably includes network attached storage device) are listed as supported, but there is NO listing for the plain “CM500” modem, which I just verified at the link you gave.

O/k well first, "NAS" does not stand for "Network Attached Storage" with a plain vanilla cable modem as straight cable modems can not and do not have such a feature. NAS stands for North American Solutions. It is a manufacturer monicker / designation. Sorry I responded to your post. Good luck !

Hello gcvrsa, thanks for posting regarding this concern. I have to agree with (EG) on this one. The modem is supported on the network up to 372 Mbps. If you have any further questions/concerns feel free to reach back out to us here :)

I no longer work for Comcast.
