IPv6 Protocol and BCOP 690

I have an IPv6 connection, but it does not follow BCOP 690 standards(https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-690/). The prefix delegation should be a /56, but my router shows a /60. I cannot change it myself, as I am setting up my big network for AI and do not have access to that setting.

Hi there @user_yh2wm5, our IP addresses are dynamic. Have you tried to release and renew the IP address?

Thank you for replying.

Yes, we do have a dynamic IP address using the DHCPv6 protocol with automatic prefix delegation. I tried releasing and renewing the connection, but I am still receiving a /60 prefix. Even after requesting a switch to a /56 prefix, I am still getting a /60.

@user_yh2wm5

Are you a residential class or a business subscriber ?

Thank you for replying.

I have a residential plan for my house and local network, as a standard customer, similar to the service at BCOP 690.

AFAIK, Residential Class Service typically delegates a /60 prefix, although if your router does not request it, it may default to a /64. Business Class Service typically delegates a /56 prefix.
