iPhone does not automatically connect to my home wifi

When I enter my home, my Wi-Fi does not automatically connect to my home network. Instead, it goes to Xfinity, shows that I am connected, but I am not. Why wouldn’t I  connect directly to my home Wi-Fi?

Hello, @Denbins. Thanks for posting on our Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the network issues you have been experiencing. Have you tried forgetting the network and reconnecting to it? Or rebooting your modem manually or through our Xfinity App?

I am having a similar issue, except I keep getting knocked off my home wifi then “unable to join”. Yet my husband, also an iPhone XR, has no issues. I’ve unplugged the router, forgotten my network then re-signed in. This last bout took 10 hours before it let me manually sign back in.

@user_df7911 are you able to forget the Xfinitywifi network? Do you have the hot spot app downloaded on to the phone? I have found with my own phones that this happens due to living in an area where it's heavily covered with hot spots. I fixed this issue with not allowing xfinitywifi to auto connect. Have you checked the settings in your phone? The auto-join hotspot should be set to ask to join or never. I have it set for ask to join and have to select joining hot spots when not at home.

Ok. I will try to figure out how to do this. The Wi-Fi settings on my laptop do show a hotspot connection to my iPhone SE, though I never set that intentionally. And I have asked Apple and they seem to think that’s just fine the way it is.

I am having the same problem. I’ve even replaced my modem. It almost seems like Xfinity wants me to have no option but to have an unlimited plan with Xfinity mobile.
