iOS Disconnecting from XB7 - Other Devices randomly disconnect too.

I have a PC hardwired into this XB7 Modem. Never losing signal or connection. My new iphone, however (through xfinity mobile no less) loses connection every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. When I leave the house and come back, or usually overnight.

Then, I cannot reconnect my phone with a restart of it, turning wifi on/off, even resetting wifi settings....the only thing that gets it reconnected is a hard reset of my router. Also, my phone has no trouble connecting to other networks and keeping a connection. It stays connected to an 'Xfinity' network in my building whenever it can't connect to my network just fine.

This problem extends to other devices that have also been randomly disconnecting. Usually I can reconnect the device, or go through the procedure on the devices to verify connection or restart it...but the only thing that works is rebooting the router.

I've done a factory reset on this modem twice now, with no success.

This is Driving me insane.

Can anyone help me?

We can look into this further by checking signal levels and any possible issues in the area as well. Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address to get started.

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3kajO4e
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
  •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
  •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

We have the same issue. We did get a new modem that started the issue. Had a tech come out who swapped the modem but didn't fix the issue.  Changed the name of the network and password which fixed some devices staying connected but iphones still keep dropping and can't reconnect without resetting modem. Have tried looking at the gateway settings but nothing works.

I am sorry to hear you have the same issue. Have you looked at your Apple products to confirm they are fully updated? I just got sent a new update on my own iPhone. I would also look at clearing your cookies and cache or history and website data on your devices. For iPhone, to clear your cookies and keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data. To clear your history and cookies, go to Settings > Safari, and tap Clear History and Website Data. Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won't change your AutoFill information.
