Have you tried unplugging the gateway at 9 pm, then plugging it back in when you need it? This is not a good idea, however, as your modem may not get needed updates. which usually occur in the wee hours of the morning. Wifi signals pose no health hazard to human beings, as it is not ionizing radiation, so if that is your concern, be aware that it is an old wives tale.
