Internet speed

Hello, I've recently upgraded to 2GB internet service (HSD Gigabit 2X), but I'm not seeing any increase in download speeds (average of 900-1000 mbps) and only a slight increase in upload speeds (140-150 mpbs).  I have a coax splitter (GE 33525 rated 5-2500 MHz) prior to my modem (Hitron CODA56).  Could the splitter be causing signal degradation?  I have power-cycled the modem twice.

Do the devices only have 1000 MB speed on the ethernet  adapter?   If so, you are achieving the full speed that the adapter is capable of.  In order to get faster wired speeds, you would need a client with a 2.5Gbps adapter plugged into a 2.5Gbps or faster port on the gateway.

This appears to be the issue.  I've checked the specs on our devices and those not seeing speeds over 1 gb have adapters that are only rated at 1 gb.  Thanks for the advice @NoNoBadPuppy

@NBWA_User thank you for using the Xfinity Community Forums page to reach out today. I understand that you have recently upgraded your service and your speeds are not yet reflecting the increase. Let's get your service where it needs to be together. To answer your question, there is always the possibility that the splitter is impacting you, but let's test a few things together before we jump to that conclusion.

Can you confirm for me what troubleshooting steps you have already completed using our Xfinity Support information?

I've checked all physical connections from the wall to splitter, from the splitter to the modem and Ethernet from the modem to my wifi router.  I've measured download speeds from a desktop connect via Ethernet cable to my wifi router.  I've confirmed that all connections (Ethernet and coax) are solid.  I've also used xfinity assistant to check my home cable connection with no problems noted.

Perfect, Have you attempted a speed test with the splitter removed?

I've completed testing with the coax splitter removed with no noticeable difference.  One odd thing is a desktop hard-wired downstream from the router with TWO switches in between is seeing download speeds of 2000+ mbps while all other hardwired laptops/desktops are still hovering around 1000 mbps.  Very odd...

I am seeing good wifi speeds on my iphone of about 1640 mbps download/260 mbps upload, so it seems that the 2Gbps service is being received in our home.

@NBWA_User I am glad to hear that the service is being received. Do you know what kind of ethernet cords you are using on the other hardwired devices?

Cords are all cat 5e, which I know are rated for 1 gb and maybe higher at short lengths.  But I think the real limiting factor is what @NoNoBadPuppy mentioned below...  my network adapters on several devices are only rated for up to 1gb
