Internet speed not matching plan

Hello. I have upgraded to the 1gbps plan, but my internet speed is stuck at 200mbps. I have tried restarting the modem, which is a CM1000v2.

Thanks for reaching out @user_7cxcsd! I can understand how frustrating it is to upgrade to Gigabit and still see speeds 1/5th of the new plan. This sounds like either a modem provisioning/configuration issue, a device/router limitation, or a connection test setup issue.

If you haven’t already, please send try sending a signal to the modem using our Xfinity app. Sending a refresh signal should hopefully correct the bootfile compared to power cycling/restarting the modem. We have an official article on using the Xfinity app to troubleshoot the internet here:
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/internet-connectivity-troubleshooting

Once the signal has been sent and the modem is online, please test with a computer connected directly to the CM1000v2 modem using Ethernet, bypassing any router, then run another speed test. Also make sure the Ethernet port on the device is Gigabit-capable and that the Ethernet cable is Cat 5e or higher.

Found out that the router was the issue, turning off Quality of Service fixed the problem. Thanks for the advice!

The CM1000 is not compatible with gigabit speeds. See this link for compatible devices; https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned

It's still an incompatible device. It's only rated by them for 950 Mbps. You won't get the full speeds. Good luck !
