Internet speed increase???

I received an email the last week saying my internet download speed has been increased by 100 mb/sec, and upload speeds increased too. When I check, I'm still getting the same up/down speeds I've gotten for years. I rebooted my modem and still have the same results. Is this email accurate? Was it sent out by mistake?  Text from the email below.

We’re giving you faster speeds – at no extra cost
Your download speeds are now 100 Mbps faster – and your upload speeds are faster too!
Bringing customers like you the best in-home WiFi experience is our top priority. That's why we're excited to give you faster speeds so your home can continue being everyone's favorite binge, scroll, share, and stream zone.

Same as you there is no difference in my upload speed, more talk without any actual results!

@user_41q0d2 thank you for taking time to reply to this post, I received the same email a few weeks ago. If you are using a Xfinity Gateway, you would want to reset your modem if you haven't done that step. If you are using your own modem, please ensure it is capable of supporting the the faster upload. You can confirm that here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/customerowned

Please let me know if you have already done these steps, I look forward to hearing back from you.

@HankV If you're not seeing the upgrade the bootfile may not have been updated or there is a restriction with the current equipment you're attempting to access the new speeds. Our team can investigate and provide some insight. If you could please send me a DM with your first and last name along with your full-service address, we can get started.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
See https://comca.st/3KQF8q9 for an example.

@XfinityBradM I am having the same issue with speeds and I wanted to DM you but I don't see a direct messaging icon or new message icon even though I am signed in to the forums. Please advise, thanks!

I was directed to a PDF file 2025.03.06 Full List of Compatible Devices.pdf that lists my modem capable of up to 975mb/sec. Any idea where to go from here? I already sent another direct message as I was asked to regarding this

@EG Thanks for the heads up, this is not something obvious. Ultimately, to get the speed increase I had to change my plan from Performance to Connect More which increased the download speed from 300 to 400Mbps and the upload speed from 20 to 35Mbps without change in price.

I'm having the same exact problem as HankV's original post and others. I received the same email with the same text on March 13. I'm currently on Performance Internet with download speeds 'up to 300Mbps'. My Comcast speed test shows same download and upload speeds as I was getting before I got the email announcing the increase, not 100 Mbps faster. I reset my Arris TG1682G modem and my separate router but that made no difference.

Do I also need to change my plan from Performance to Connect More to increase my speed to 400 Mbps? How do I do that without an increase in price?

Thanks!

My speed increase took effect as soon as I rebooted my modem (Arris Surfboard SB8200.)
