Internet speed degradation over time
Hello
I am trying to figure out what is going on with our wifi speeds.
We have had issues with packet loss for a few weeks, and a tech came out recently and finally seemingly fixed that issue.
Now, the speed we get on wifi from the modem is approximately 1/10 to 1/20 of what we pay for, and a fraction of what we would get in the past.
When we restart the modem, our speeds will rocket up to about what we would expect for our plan, on wifi (knowing that it will not be the equivalent speed we pay for) and then slowly over the course of 10 minutes it slows down further and further until it is back to being a crawl. Plugging in directly doesn't seem to help, and is unfeasible as a long term solution for our current apartment setup. We just had the modem replaced in January, and this is probably the 5th or 6th modem replacement from tech appointments over the 2 years we've been here with all of the issues we've experienced.
Does anyone out there have an idea of what could cause this type of slowdown?
