Internet slowed down from 300Mbps to 20Mbps

Hello everyone,

This week I have noticed that internet is kinda slow (speedtest went from 300Mbps(SB6183) to 20Mbps), so today I decided to take a look at everything - rebooting every device was the first thing to do - It did not help. I have looked at the modem at I see a lot of uncorrectable (packets?) as well as something in the event log. My next step would be switching coaxil cable to a spare one just to see if it is causing the slowdown. Also know when I think about it, we had huge storm/tornado warning in the area this week... But first I would like to check with you guys what you think.

FWIW. There are some downstream channel SNR values that are too low / out of spec. Seems that there may be some extraneous noise leaking into the line(s) somewhere. That can definitely cause slowdowns and other problems. Hopefully, the tech will see this with their handheld tool ! Feel free to show them this thread if they will even look... Good luck with it !

Many of the SNR's are still too low / out of spec... ! More work needs to be done. It's a problem just waiting to return.... You need to get the techs involved again until it is fixed properly.

Bear in mind that if the premises facing techs can not find or fix a problem at your home, it is they who are responsible for escalating it to their line / network / maintenance dept. techs. The problem may lie beyond your home in the local neighborhood infrastructure somewhere but it is their S.O.P. to start at the home. And if the problem is found to be on their side of the demarcation point, there will not be any charge.

What should I tell them? that some SNR on downstream are out of spec? Should I just involve xfinity support people that responded in this thread and they can send the tech out?

EDIT: I also reminded myself that comcast techs came like 3 times in the past 2 years to fix something so that makes sense...
