Internet service is still down

On Tuesday, September 15, Xfinity notified us that they were doing service upgrades in our area ([Edited: "Personal Information"]). My internet was working fine before that. That Tuesday evening, after they notified me that the work for the day was completed, my internet would not come up. The gateway would not turn solid white for the connection - it would get to the flashing green, and then recycle and start the connection process over again. I called several times, and even though Xfinity said that there was no outage in my area, my modem still would not connect. The tech on the support line kept indicating that on their end they could not communicate with the modem, even though everything was working FINE until Xfinity brought the network down to do whatever it was that they were doing. A service appointment was scheduled earlier after my first call to them.

During this second call, I was told that they detected an outage, even though they didn't post the outage on their site, and said that the service should be restored by 12:36 am this morning. This morning I still had no service, called them again, and once again they said that they could not communicate with my modem after this service upgrade was done. Here it is now that I've been without internet, which my Fire Stick had no access we couldn't watch TV in the house. Again nothing with the in-house connection had changed, so I decided that maybe the modem was the issue, at which I made the effort to take the modem back to Xfinity to get a replacement modem, so that when the on-site tech appointment that is scheduled for Thursday, we could rule out the modem because it was replaced.

I arrived to the local Xfinity store, and found this posting on the door. This location is at 1851 Mt Zion Rd, Morrow, GA 30260, which is about 20 minutes from my home....

So my question is to you, Xfinity, why am I being told that everything in my area is fine, that we'll have to come out to your residence to diagnose the issue, and your site is indicating that there is no outage in my area, yet 20 minutes away from my home, on the other side of town, your store is closed due to an outage. Everything was working fine until you performed whatever "network upgrades" you stated that were being made....Please make this make sense....

user_0ms0gu - Thank you for your feedback and for joining us here on the Xfinity Forums. I know I'd be reaching out too if I were unable to enjoy my services, and I appreciate the opportunity to help. There can be a variety of reasons for a service interruption. When one occurs, affected customers can check their account status through the Xfinity app or the Status Center for updates and estimated restoration information.

It's also important to note that service interruptions can impact customers differently. For example, a neighbor right next door may be experiencing an interuption while your services remain unaffected, or vice versa.

If there are no reported issues for your address and you're still experiencing problems, the next step would be to perform some troubleshooting. If the issue continues after troubleshooting, we'll be happy to help schedule a visit from an expert Xfinity technician to take a closer look and get things working properly again. Our team is here to help in every way we can.
