Internet Question

My Internet is through a local ISP not Xfinity. Is there a way to tell if I can watch movies available through Internet if I connect my TV to my WiFi network? Or does this feature only work with Xfinity Internet? What Internet speed is needed? Thank you very much.

The concern is not "X1" help related. Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

Hello, @Lanka, if your TV is connected to the internet than you can view online content you have access to. For example, content available in third-party apps such as Netflix, HBO Max, and Tubi to name a few. You would need Xfinity service to access Xfinity resources like the Xfinity Stream app or X1 features.  The internet speed you want just depends on how many devices you are planing on using and what you're streaming the most.

I have Xfinity services and the Stream app. I don’t subscribe to any streaming services. I only use my ISP WiFi for my iPad. What download speed would I need to use Xfinity services also? What Internet services are included if I don’t add any streaming services? I am really only interested in movies. Thank you very much.

Got it, thanks for this information. I am a bit confused on how you're using the stream app when you don't subscribe to TV or Xfinity streaming services. I'd like to pull up your address to see what services you have with us so that I can provide the correct information. Can you please DM your full name and street address?

I no longer work for Comcast.

@Lanka

Here's how....

To send a direct message (private message);

Click "Sign In" if necessary.

Click the "Direct Message" icon  in the upper right corner or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon.

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.

Press Enter to send it.
