internet packet loss

Hi. I have recently boarded this service. I have been seeing consistently around 1-2% packet loss on my 1Gb connection since I started. I am using MTR to measure this. I have no splitters on the path inside the house.

I am coming from 5G FWA home internet and never saw much packet loss, if any, on that link even though it was 5g wireless so i am not expecting this. I have run this to various stable points on the internet (Google DNS at 8.8.8.8, Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1), etc) with the same results of 1-2% loss.

Could someone check my modem to confirm the signal strengths to give me a hint if that has anything to do with this? as a starting point? i have the Xfinity device in Bridge mode so i cannot get this information myself anymore it seems

A recent example of a long running MTR from today...

PS, this is a wired connection to the Xfinity gateway, not wireless, to remove that from the equation. As you can see above, no packet loss to my local router, only once I leave my device.

Hello user_4lxopu! Thanks for reaching out to us on our Forums for help with the packet loss that you have been dealing with. I'm sorry to read that we are starting off on a bad note with you for our internet connections. I know how troublesome it can be when you have to deal with these network issues. I would be happy to check the signal levels on the gateway for us.

You mentioned that you are hardwired to the gateway when experiencing this issue, but the gateway is in bridge mode. Are you connected to your router with the hardwired connection or the Xfinity gateway?
