I have an active account with internet essentials . I am having issues with my internet connecting. No matter if I have unplugged the box it still does not work and it has been this way all day

It sounds like you've tried some troubleshooting already. Did you also check the coaxial cable at the wall and behind the modem to make sure it is secure and finger tight on both ends?
