Internet issues PS5

I cant play anyone online with my PS5 its getting really frustrating, I can play PVE with some lag but when I play PVP like NHL 22 forget it. The connection will load, I have a good signal/ping --like 24-- but then someone will join, and  then within 2 mins I lose a connection. I know somethings wrong because we've had issues in the past where the signal cuts off and is sporadic. On there weekend at exactly 12AM Friday it wont work, but Monday its fine...Like clockwork  same time. The other techs solution was "get another box" but this is like the 3rd one. I cant go through 198.168--.1.1 because of the bridge mode and there's seems to be no clear indication or solution.

I have an Xfinity Gateway that's set up downstairs the Living room, there the Ethernet Cable (RJ45)cord goes to my bedroom where I have a night hawk wireless router in bridge mode and from there its hard wired does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for taking the time and consideration to read this, I'm greatly appreciative

Hmm.  My comment did not post so let's try this again.  And againg sorry for tagging onto your post, but it seems we need some clear answers.  So far no luck with Sony support.  I am stuck in a bot loop and have not been able to send a message \ reach a human.

I just picked one up and had issues right away.  I was like okay maybe something simple I overlooked. So I did a search and found quite a few posts on the web about PS5 connectivity issues.  Yikes.

Saw a few posts here as well, but no solutions that I saw.

I have an XB8, xfi pods, and wired dumb switches.

My PS5 is on a wired connection on the same switch as my Xbox Series X and it has had ZERO issues.  I even swapped cables.  And I have a line tester so I know my cables and ports are good.

I did find posts about rebooting router, resetting router, rebooting console, reset console., reset wifi connection on console.

Having to reboot things is not a fix IMHO.  And if you have to do it multiple times on the console and\or router that would get old quick.

Resetting anything is a major step and doing that multiple time is an even bigger PAIN.

Reset wifi is easier, but what good does that do you if you are in a game.  And I am wired.

I have not even tried any online gaming yet as my issues are right at the home screen getting the "cannot load", "cannot find what you are looking for", and/or some icons not working.  My network shows connected and speeds are good.

What has been working for me is one of the step above.  I remove\forget my wired connection and things will work.

How long things work is very sporadic so far (every few minutes to a few hours).  And though this works, again what happens when you are gaming with friends, cloud gaming, and streaming any content.

I saw some articles about port forwarding to fix things.  I did this and kept the defaults.  This seems to have helped.  But we will see.  Good luck!

Here is a post in the forum:

So far the port forwarding has helped with play store and cloud gaming.  I have yet to do a multiplayer game.

So I haven’t played PVP, I’ve been mostly playing PVE And your suggestion seems to be working. I haven’t had a disconnect in 5 games. I think you might be onto something, thank you for the response.

@kahnfewzd I did this which did not really help much. My fix was to change the ps5 dns server from xfinitys to Google dns of 8.8.8.8 and this solved my problem once doing that and restart the ps5. I'm sharing this fix because like others here it was driving me nuts. I pay for gigabit speeds and was getting maybe 100 down and constantly slow response with mw2. Once I did this it was 500 down and no lag! This is all xfinitys doing but the fix is not hard. Here are some simple directions
