Internet Instability

​​​​Xfinity was the only company that provided high speed connection at the place ive recently moved into, but there has been internet drops multiple times a day since ive moved in. I wanted to use my own equipment because i livestream quite often and dont really like the base xfinity modems packet control settings, however everything Ive tried hasnt fixed the problem. ​​​​

As I stated in my last reply, you are going to have to get the techs involved again until things get fixed properly.

Bear in mind that if the premises facing techs can not find or fix a problem at your home, it is they who are responsible for escalating it to their line / network / maintenance dept. techs. The problem may lie beyond your home in the local neighborhood infrastructure somewhere but it is their S.O.P. to start at the home. And if the problem is found to be on their side of the demarcation point, there will not be any charge.

The upstream power is on the high side / close to being out of spec. And many of the downstream channels have a large number of uncorrectable bit errors. Please post back about how things turn out after the tech visit.

@EG​ Hes changed the connector to lower the upstream power, also apparently the connector into my house was setup to have two modems and only was one was connected, leaving the second port available to collect radiowaves and whatever else is floating around my neighborhood and cause unwanted noise on the line.

Hes recently finished up, so Ill come back to this post later to keep everyone updated.

The uncorrected bit errors are looking better but channel #1 still appears to have a problem. And the upstream power is still high. There's not much wiggle room to allow for the inevitable intermittent fluctuations... The bottom line is to live with it for a while now and see if the dropouts return / continue. Keep an eye on those uncorrectables and the upstream power levels. You may have to get a tech out again. Good luck !

@EG​ Back again. I was gone most of the day, as soon as i got home I attempted a live stream just to have the net go out twice within a 20 minute span.
