Internet Instability Issues: Frequent Ping Spikes & Outages

I’m reaching out out of sheer frustration because my internet issues are making gaming impossible, and I’m hoping someone can help or provide advice.

I’ve been paying for Xfinity’s highest-speed internet plan, which worked perfectly before May. However, since then, my connection has become wildly unstable, with regular ping spikes that completely ruin gameplay. To make matters worse, the internet goes down entirely for a few minutes every midnight before coming back, but it’s still unstable.

What I’ve Done So Far:

  1. Upgraded Equipment:
    • I updated my modem and router to the latest TP-Link model.
  2. Reached Out to Customer Service:
    • I’ve contacted Xfinity customer service multiple times. They’ve rebooted and checked the system each time, but this hasn’t resolved the issue.
  3. Paid for a Technician Visit:
    • I spent $80 to have an Xfinity technician come out to assess the issue. They changed some equipment but noted the likely problem could be the aging satellite infrastructure in this area.

I’m incredibly frustrated because every time I call, I end up repeating the same explanation, only for nothing to change. The lack of updates or progress is disappointing, especially given the cost of the service I’m paying for.

I’m at my wit’s end. I’ve invested time, money, and energy into fixing this issue, but it feels like nothing is working. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there anything else I can try? Or does Xfinity plan to address infrastructure problems affecting stability?
