Internet in Detached Structure
I have a second coaxial line from the street at the house, and a conduit pathway to the detached structure.
One of those coaxial lines is my internet access in the house.
Can I extend the second line into the detached structure and install a modem and router out there?
Or would it be better to run an ethernet cable from the existing router in the house all the way into the detached structure?

Most local markets will not allow two modems to be used at one address. You can contact customer support to see what the local policy is. Even if they do allow it, you will have to pay for two accounts (twice what you are paying for HSI now).
Ethernet is always preferable, but in this case, if there is existing coax in that conduit from your premises to the structure (or you can run it through), MoCA adapters could be an option for you. MoCA is basically ethernet over coax. You can Google it for more info.

Hello, @user_d0aee1. Thanks for posting on our Community Forums for assistance. Those are great questions. Is your intention to have an ethernet device connected in the detached structure? Or are you trying to move your modem entirely? If you have a coaxial outlet available at the detached structure, you could move the modem there and check if there is an active internet signal. If you just need internet you would try connecting to Wi-Fi, or extending an ethernet cable might work best.
