Internet goes out when it rains

Recently (past month or two) Internet goes out when it rains (and it rains a lot here in south Florida in the summer), had been working great for years prior. Takes 10 minutes to several hours to come back on. there has been no change in hardware on my network (modem, router etc.)

Typically that is due to damaged coax cable or loose or corroded coax connectors.

If you want to troubleshoot this yourself, please see Internet Troubleshooting Tips. If you can't find the problem or you'd rather have Comcast take care of it and an employee does not respond to your message here, call them at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or use one of the options on https://www.xfinity.com/support/contact-us/. It's not likely they can fix this remotely, so insist they send a tech out to identify the cause and correct it.

If the problem is due anything outside your home as would be expected for a "loss of connection when it rains" problem, you shouldn't be charged.

Good luck getting a good tech out there who will actually look at outside wiring. I mean that sincerely, not cynically. It's such a relief to get a good tech who is thorough.

Rain/snow was constantly causing a problem for us over several years. We upgraded our modem, checked connections and cables inside, and had techs out on a couple/few occasions prior...who always seemed to fiddle around with connectors or to put in noise reduction, and they always got the signal to work "good enough for company standards" and then left. When the guy who fixed it finally came out, we were the ones who ran through the modem log and pointed things out. We were the ones saying the modem file didn't match our modem. He got that sorted, and our signal was back, but fortunately he had the work ethic to check the cable outside our house when we mentioned intermittent signal loss that seemed to coincide with wet weather.

This should always be a huge "duh" for any cable tech - hearing there are intermittent problems when it rains (and/or snows, here in Colorado) - is a huge red flag that the outside cable is compromised. But, when the internet comes back while a tech is at your house, techs usually just chalk it up to something they did inside, and leave and call it all fixed. The tech who finally fixed our cable found it lying on TOP of the ground at the back of our yard, going through the fence into the back neighbor's yard, into the service box. God only knows how many years it had been lying there, it was probably 10 years into us renting the place when he replaced it. Never had a problem after that was replaced, but it seems like most techs only bother to go there as an absolute LAST resort.
